Abstract

Export is one of the activities carried out by freight forwarder companies wihch service companies that handle the delivery and receipt of goods (export - import). In handling export goods, freight forwarder companies must be very careful so that there are no faults in export or import data and documents because these data and documents will be used in goods custom clearance in the destination country. This study focuses on increasing the handling of exported goods by sea (sea freight) at PT Ritra Cargo Indonesia Cabang Denpasar through a process of changing goods handling information which was originally done manually into an information system for handling goods carried out with the help of a computer based on desktop modeling application. By using the system development life cycle (SDLC) method, this information system is expected to be able to produce more optimal company operational activities through the application of information systems, especially in the design of information systems for handling export goods by sea (sea freight) at PT Ritra Cargo Indonesia Denpasar Branch based on on the desktop application modelling in order to facilitate work through digital processes, provide information related to the process of handling export goods and can reduce errors due to miss communication, human error, and facilitate notification of the process of submitting information on handling export goods at PT.
