Abstract

The purpose of this study is to explain the influence of job promotion and mutation on employee performance at the Klungkung District Attorney Branch Office in Nusa Penida and to develop strategic recommendations that can be applied to ensure that promotions and mutation contribute to improving employee performance. This research was conducted at a government institution, specifically the Klungkung District Attorney Branch Office in Nusa Penida. The study involved a sample of 33 employees using a saturated sampling method, in which all members of the population were included as research participants. Data were collected through a questionnaire distributed via Google Forms and measured using a Likert scale. The data were analyzed using IBM SPSS (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) version 30.0 for Windows. The analytical technique used in this study was multiple linear regression analysis. The results indicate that job promotion has a positive and significant effect on employee performance, while mutation has a negative and significant effect on employee performance. Job promotion and mutation contribute 76,2% to the employee performance variable (Y1), while the remaining 23.8% is influenced by other factors not included in the model. This study provides several recommendations, including developing clear Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), effectively socializing the SOPs to employees, and providing non-financial rewards to employees with outstanding performance.
