Abstract

Work discipline was one of the essential indicators in evaluating employee performance and productivity within a company. To create a professional and conducive work environment, it was necessary for companies to implement an effective management system, including the provision of rewards and punishments. This research aimed to analyze how the implementation of reward and punishment improved employee work discipline at Element by Westin Bali Ubud. This study employed a quantitative research method with a descriptive approach. Data were collected through questionnaires distributed to employees who participated as respondents in this study. The sampling technique used was non- probability sampling with a saturated sampling approach, where the entire population was used as the sample. Data analysis was conducted using SPSS version 23.0 software, with analytical procedures including validity test, reliability test, classical assumption test, multiple linear regression analysis, coefficient of determination analysis, F-test (simultaneous test), and t-test (partial test). The results of the study showed that, partially, the implementation of rewards had a positive and significant effect on employee work discipline. Similarly, punishment also had a positive and significant effect on employee discipline. Simultaneously, the application of reward and punishment had a significant and positive influence on improving employee work discipline at Element by Westin Bali Ubud. It was expected that the findings of this research could serve as valuable input for the company's management in formulating effective human resource strategies, especially in enhancing work discipline through the appropriate implementation of reward and punishment systems.
