Abstract

This study aims to design and implement an automatic egg incubator control system based on the Internet of Things (IoT) using the ESP32-CAM microcontroller. The system is developed to monitor and control temperature, humidity, lighting, and egg rotation automatically and in real-time through a mobile application. The BME680 sensor is utilized to measure temperature and humidity, while the ESP32-CAM module allows users to visually monitor the incubator's internal condition. The ESP32 microcontroller acts as the central controller, managing outputs such as incandescent lamps, fans, and DC motors. All recorded data is automatically stored in Google Spreadsheet via Firebase integration. The implementation results show that the system performs effectively in maintaining incubation temperatures between 37.5°C and 38°C, and relative humidity at around 50%–55% during the initial incubation phase and 60%–65% during the hatching phase. Sensor accuracy testing indicated a maximum temperature error of 0.57% and a humidity error of 18.37%. Although no eggs successfully hatched during the 21-day trial period, the system demonstrated stabel and efficient performance. This research is expected to serve as a modern solution to support the automatic and remote-controlled hatching of chicken eggs.
