Abstract

This study aims to simulate a KNX (Konnex)-based Smart Building installation in the teachers’ room of SMKN 1 Kuta Selatan. The system employs basic KNX devices such as power supply, switch actuator, Dimming Actuator, Shutter actuator, universal input, and light and temperature sensors. The research was conducted in three stages: system design, programming with ETS6 software, and energy consumption testing between conventional and KNX systems. The results indicate that KNX can automatically manage lighting and air conditioning according to time and environmental conditions. With this automation, electricity consumption is lower than in conventional systems, achieving higher energy efficiency. In addition, KNX supports both manual and remote control via smartphone, offering greater user flexibility. This study demonstrates that KNX implementation is not only beneficial for energy savings but also valuable as a practical learning tool for students and teachers to understand modern Smart Building technology that ensures safety, comfort, and efficiency.
