Abstract

Campus Feeder is one of the important feeders located in the working area of PT PLN (Persero) UP2D Bali and supplies strategic loads, including higher education facilities and public services. The reliability of the electricity distribution system is very crucial to maintain the continuity of electricity supply to this feeder. One of the important devices in the distribution system is the Load break switch (LBS) Motorized Pole, which functions as a tool for automatically disconnecting and connecting loads remotely. This final project analyzes the needs and impacts of replacing the Motorized Pole 1 LBS on the Campus feeder, both from technical and operational aspects. The methods used include literature studies, field data collection, analysis of existing LBS performance, and evaluation of the technical specifications of the replacement LBS. In addition, an analysis of the disturbances that have occurred, recovery time, and the effectiveness of the protection system before and after the replacement of the equipment was carried out. The analysis results show that LBS replacement is necessary due to the decline in performance of the old unit which has an impact on the delay in switching manoeuvres and has the potential to cause local blackouts.
