Abstract

This research modifies the Honda Beat FI 2013 motorcycle into a hybrid vehicle by incorporating a BLDC 72V 1500W electric motor. The study aims to enhance fuel efficiency and vehicle performance through modern maintenance techniques that promote the technical training of mechanics, operators, and supervisors. The background of the research is driven by the increasing consumption of fossil fuels, the need for more efficient transportation solutions, and the limitations of conventional motorcycles. The objective is to understand the form of modification and the impact of the hybrid system on fuel consumption and travel distance. The method involves an experimental study through system planning, component selection (including lithium-ion batteries 72V 26Ah, controller, throttle, and dual-branch gas system), assembly, and testing under various road conditions. The results show that the hybrid motorcycle can travel 10 km with a fuel consumption of 0.150 liters, which is approximately 52.38% more efficient than the conventional gasoline engine (0.315 liters per 10 km). Additionally, the hybrid system produces greater torque and more stable performance across different terrains. The discussion highlights that the dual-wheel drive system offers better traction, optimal power distribution, and the potential for developing energy-efficient two-wheeled vehicles. In conclusion, two-wheel drive hybrid motorcycles are able to increase fuel efficiency while extending the range compared to conventional motorcycles, so they can be the basis for developing more efficient two-wheeled transportation.
