Abstract

Wall work is a crucial element in construction, affecting the cost, quality, and duration of a project. Selecting the right materials is essential for optimal results in terms of quality, timeliness, and cost efficiency. This study aims to evaluate three common wall materials: red brick, concrete block, and lightweight brick. The method used was a time study using primary data in the form of material price and labor wage surveys, as well as secondary data from plan drawings, cost estimates, and project documents for the construction of SMP Negeri 3 Kuta, Badung, Bali. The analysis showed the lowest cost for concrete block at Rp138,630.14/m², followed by lightweight brick at Rp159,659.37/m², and the highest for red brick at Rp175,469.60/m². In terms of time, the fastest productivity was achieved by lightweight brick at 9 days, followed by concrete block at 12 days, and the longest by red brick at 16 days for a work volume of 885.98 m² with four workers. In terms of quality, red brick excels in durability, while concrete blocks are inferior, while lightweight bricks excel because they are light, neat, and efficient. The material that offers optimum value in terms of cost, quality, and time for implementation in wall work is concrete blocks.
