Abstract

This study aims to explore the impact of organisational climate and trust on work engagement at JM Hotel Kuta Lombok. The main problem faced is the high employee turnover rate which can result in operational instability and decreased service quality. The purpose of this study is to identify factors that can increase employee engagement to overcome these problems. This research uses mixed methods, namely qualitative and quantitative. Primary data was collected through direct observation and questionnaires distributed to 100 employees of JM Hotel, which included questions about their perceptions of organisational climate and trust in management. Secondary data was obtained from literature studies and related documentation, including books, journals, official reports, and other sources relevant to the research topic. The results show that an inclusive organisational climate and employees' trust in management significantly affect the level of work engagement. Factors such as transparency in decision-making, management support, and effective communication proved to play an important role in improving employee engagement. In addition, career development and a supportive work environment are also important factors. The conclusion of this study is that strengthening the organisational climate and increasing employee trust can improve work engagement. Practical recommendations proposed include increased transparency in management, better career development, and open communication in the work environment. This research provides important insights for hotel management and tourism industry practitioners in strengthening productive and sustainable working relationships, and can be adopted by tourism businesses in other areas facing similar issues.
